Morristown kicked off its 2019 Street Smart NJ pedestrian safety campaign on May 8. This is the third year the town has participated in the initiative.
The campaign is a partnership with TransOptions Transportation Management Association.
The campaign works to remind people of their shared responsibility to make streets safer, whether they are driving or walking. Between 2015 and 2017 there were 74 crashes involving pedestrians in Morristown. The campaign aims to change the behaviors that lead to crashes by educating people about New Jersey’s pedestrian related laws.
Morristown also participated in Street Smart in 2016 and 2017.
