Mayor Timothy Dougherty, police officers, local and state officials participated in the event. This is the third time Morristown is participating in the pedestrian safety campaign.
“South Street is a state road with a lot of activity,” Dougherty said. “Morristown’s downtown is growing, it continues to grow, and we need to work together a community.”
Morristown received a $20,000 grant from the New Jersey Division of Highway Traffic Safety. The grant covers the cost of police overtime for enforcement efforts and campaign materials.
